Si-fi, fantasy, comedy, slice of life, horror e.t.c . Manga also has different categories for the audience that it’s aimed at: Kodomo Manga, comics for little kids; Shōnen Manga, comics for young teenage boys; and Shōjo Manga, comics for young teenage girls. Despite this form of entertainment originating from Japan, many manga have been translated in to western languages like English since the 1960s. Manga has become a major part of Japanese publishing industry and has made around ¥420 billion ($5.5 billion) in 2009 alone, and in 2008, in the U.S. and Canada, the manga market was valued at $175 million. A lot, right?! O(≧▽≦)O

Manga stories are typically printed in black-and-white, although some full-colour manga exist. In Japan, manga are usually serialized in large manga magazines like the Shōnen Jump.

The art style is very destinctive. Manga characters usually have big, expressive eyes ◉‿◉ and small mouths and noses. They can show all kinds of emotions like using exagerated expressions to show surprise or excitement, sweat drops when nervous, a popping vein on the forehead when angry and blowing bubbles out the mouth when tired.

Some of the most popular manga are Naruto and One Piece. You should defintiely check them out! (ᗒᗨᗕ)
